Beginning in September, I will be hosting the Third Wednesday Poetry and Music Series at The Screening Room (until June, 2018). I'm happy to step in for that year or so. We'll keep the first three features that are already booked (Ken Feltges and Richard Olson in September, and Sandy Mcpherson Carrubba Geary in October), then we'll bypass the featured reader option for the poetry and music open mic. Please know that I'll aim to mix things up and keep the pace going with a goal of 90-minute events (two pieces by each reader/player/student--welcome to more if we run out of folks before 90 minutes). If you attended our Yardwords reading, we will try to keep it along those lines. Note: we will have a merchandise table at every reading. Readers and/or performers are invited to bring a few copies each of a book, CD, or similar item to present for sale, or maybe it is the publication you are selecting your readings from that evening. Please keep blurbs about the work(s) very brief when it's your turn to read or play, but be sure to tell us what you would like us to know about it. Refreshments will not be provided for this series but you are welcome to purchase snacks and drinks from The Screening Room cafe staff. A $3 cover goes to the venue Acoustic music only, please, as we only have two channels (one for vocals, one for one guitar) through my Fishman system. Please bring your own guitar as one will not be provided.
